Flynn Forge install

Bring Flynn to your Discord community

Flynn helps communities organize, manage, and grow through guided setup, safer defaults, and clear approval steps.

What happens next

Safe install foundation

  1. User clicks Install Flynn.
  2. Discord opens the server authorization flow.
  3. The server owner reviews requested permissions.
  4. Discord returns authorization to the Flynn API.
  5. The API creates the application session foundation.
  6. Flynn records the installation when Discord returns server details.
  7. Flynn opens the Setup Assistant choice for the server owner.

This page starts the public installation journey. The server-side API validates the OAuth response and keeps secrets out of browser code. The Setup Assistant starts only after the owner chooses a guided path.

Permissions

Why Flynn asks for access

Manage Channels

Used when an approved setup or module needs to create or configure channels.

Manage Roles

Used when an approved setup or module needs to create or assign roles.

Moderation permissions

Reserved for moderation modules. These are not used by the current install page.

Flynn should request only the permissions needed for approved installation and enabled features. Sensitive moderation permissions stay tied to future moderation modules.

Trust and support

Review before installing

Flynn does not change server structure just because it joined. Setup, templates, roles, channels, and future modules should use previews and admin approval before making server changes.
